General Program OutlineFamily PlanSingles Plan

One of the most challenging aspects of making aliyah for a single is finding a social network.  The Bayit Rishon Bamoledet Program provides a built in social environment for the new immigrant. It offers a warm, inviting framework as a springboard to life in Israel, plus a support group of other immigrants wishing to explore a variety of new experiences together. Kibbutz living involves a broad social way of life, and is an excellent option for the single person looking to become connected.

The program is intended for new single immigrants, aged 28-45.

Program details for singles

The basic format of the Project is the same for both families and singles, with some slight differences and guidelines.

  • Following the initial six month ulpan, if the participant is interested in extending the contract, there are a few options. They will be assisted in integrating into the workforce (work placement cannot be promised but everything is done to assist in finding placement) either on the Kibbutz or in the general area. During this period the olim can study in the evenings through a Ministry of Absorption framework for Professional Placement in order to find longer term and professionally geared employment. An alternative option is to register for a vocational or retraining course.
  • Different Kibbutzim offer different accommodation. On all Kibbutzim participants will have their own room. Some units will include bathrooms and kitchenettes and some will provide joint bathroom facilities for a number of rooms.
  • The singles plan includes seminars, trips and cultural activities specifically geared to the interests and needs of singles.
