Babait Beyahad - Lions of Judah Activity Report:

In light of the complex challenges faced by new immigrants who are single mothers, the Lions of Judah has taken the initiative to adapt the Babait Beyachad program to respond to the needs of single-parent families. More

Highlights:

Through its groundbreaking Babait Beyahad program established in 2003 with the support of its partners around the world, the Jewish Agency mobilizes Israeli citizens to "adopt" new immigrants during their first two years in Israel. Nowhere was this more poignant than for lone soldiers who served in the Lebanon war. More

Strauss-Elite and Babait Beyahad

Workers of Strauss-Elite volunteer on behalf of Babait Beyahad for olim at the Yeelim absorption center in Beer Sheva, helping the children with their studies in math, English, Hebrew etc.

A Purim party was held for the olim and veteran families, and more than 50 Babait Beyahad volunteers joined in the celebrations. The Strauss-Elite workers treated the children to sweet Purim parcels and balloons.

Together at the Supermarket

Babait Beyahad program accompanies the new olim and their partner Israeli families from the moment they join the program; they have periodic meetings, workshops, and special events. In addition … they receive a small gift before the Jewish holidays.

Before last Pesach (Passover) the olim received a small bag of seeds (seeds of connection), with a mixture of seeds for planting. This year, in anticipation of the large amount of shopping each family conducts before the Passover holiday, each volunteer family received a supermarket trolley card with a thank you letter from the chairman of the Immigration and Absorption Committee of the Board of Governors.

The History of Babait Beyahad:
