Families are paired according to individual suitability, common background, language and interests. They are then invited to jointly participate in a variety of recreational, cultural, social and enrichment activities. The hope is that these joint activities will serve as a basis for facilitating continuous and direct contact between the participants.
The project offers new immigrants an opportunity to develop or broaden their social network. They are able to establish contact and receive advice, tips and support from former olim who have experienced the Aliyah process and who can help them form a bridge to Israeli society. An additional goal of the program is that it provides Israelis or former immigrants the opportunity to assist in the national priority of absorbing new immigrants and to become involved in an important community project.
Israeli society was not built by words but by the actions of caring, idealistic pioneers who recognized the needs of the time and made things happen. Today we no longer need to clear swamps but the challenges that await us are no less important. The modern day call of Zionism has many dimensions. A major one is keeping the seams of our society together. Aliyah is one of the threads that strengthens Israel's social fabric. Together we will build a network that includes the extended family of Israel and tie the knots that will keep us as a society together. We invite you to be part of this challenge. Babait Beyachad - A modern day call to Zionism.
