Board of Governors Committee Member
The Jewish Agency for Israel
Bobby Gilbert is part of a multi-generational Miami family dedicated to serving and supporting the Jewish people and the State of Israel. Bobby’s late grandfather, Stanley C. Myers, was the founding president of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and served as president of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds during the initial years following Israel’s establishment. Bobby’s personal connection with Israel began in 1976, when he attended the Alexander Muss High School in Israel, an experience that was instrumental in charting the course of his life. He returned to Israel for two years during college to study at Tel Aviv University’s Shiloah Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Upon returning to Miami, Bobby worked for Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while attending law school in the evening.
Bobby’s Jewish communal service has included leadership positions with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, where he currently serves on the executive committee, board of trustees, financial management committee, and chair of the 2024 Miami Jewish Population Study. Bobby also serves on the national board of the Shalom Hartman Institute and was the first alumnus to chair the national board of the Alexander Muss High School. He is a longtime AIPAC activist and is involved with several other Jewish and Israeli organizations.
Bobby has been a trial lawyer for nearly four decades, focusing on complex business disputes and class actions. He and his wife Nancy live in Miami, where they raised two sons. They are longtime members of Temple Beth Am, a reform community of 1,800 families.
