Jerusalem, June 13, 2025 – In light of the security situation, The Jewish Agency has opened a situation room in Jerusalem to closely monitor and assist all the populations entrusted to its care in Israel and around the world, including olim (new immigrants) residing in absorption centers as well as those expected to arrive in Israel soon, students in youth villages, young people and community representatives from communities around the world currently visiting Israel, and hundreds of Israeli shlichim (emissaries) operating on behalf of The Jewish Agency in Jewish communities worldwide.
Jewish Agency Chairman Maj. Gen. (Res.) Doron Almog, said: “The IDF has launched a preemptive attack in a war that was forced upon us against those who seek to destroy us. The embrace and support we receive from our sisters and brothers around the world provides the foundation for the biblical prophecy that has also become the name of the operation, Rising Lion – “A nation that rises up like a lioness, like a lion it stands tall (Numbers 23:24).’”
Jewish Agency CEO Yehuda Setton: “We stand in support of Israel’s security forces and are not stopping our mission for a moment. The Jewish Agency is operating around the clock to ensure that no one is left alone: not the thousands of olim in absorption centers, not the elderly in Amigour housing, not the shlichim scattered around the world, and not the young people who chose to be here specifically now.
The embrace from Jewish communities worldwide is strongly felt and reminds us that the partnership we have built is deep and enduring. This is not just support, this is true mutual responsibility between the Jewish people wherever they live.”
In a letter sent recently to Jewish community leaders and members of The Jewish Agency’s Board of Governors, the heads of The Jewish Agency wrote:
“In these days, we strengthen and thank our brave soldiers from the bottom of our hearts. Air Force pilots and security forces are protecting all of us on the home front and on the frontlines. The coming days will not be simple, and we appreciate all those who reach out to check on our wellbeing from around the world. Together with you, in regular times and in times of emergency, we will continue to act with the required responsibility and respond to every situation accordingly.”
