Sarene is an active, longstanding volunteer in the Jewish community with particular interests in Israel as well as Jewish learning and engagement.

She has held numerous leadership positions at UJA Federation of NY and is currently Chair of both the International Planning and Allocations Committee and the Israel Coordinating Committee and a member of the Israel Emergency Committee, as well as of the UJA Board. She is also President of Hadar and a member of the Board and Executive Committee of Repair the World. Sarene is active in her synagogue, Westchester Jewish Center, where she is a past President and Chair of the Board.

Sarene is an attorney and is a partner with her brother in a family business that manages and develops commercial real estate. She lives in Mamaroneck, NY with her husband Harold Treiber, with whom she travels to Israel at least once a year. They share four children and five grandchildren.
