The Jewish Agency created Onward Israel so that graduates of Taglit-Birthright and other peer-trip programs in Israel would have an opportunity to spend 6-10 additional weeks in Israel, building their résumés and getting to know the Jewish state in a deeper way.
With more than 70 programs addressing the interests and concerns of Jewish young adults entering the workforce, Onward Israel creates professional connections that last a lifetime as well as a glimpse into the global economy—invaluable experience for those just starting out in their careers.
Participants leave with a deeper connection to their faith and a stronger commitment to the Jewish community.
"I have gotten to do what I love most in a fascinating and beautiful country, while learning and growing in ways I never could have expected," said Lia, a young woman from Virginia, who did a summer internship through Onward at EcoTraders, Israel’s Green Energy initiative, where she worked with solar energy.
