“Today, The Jewish Agency leads 67 partnerships connecting 187 Jewish communities in Israel and around the world,” explained Pnina Agenyahu, Director of the Global Partnerships Network at The Jewish Agency, emphasizing the organization’s broader Partnership2Gether framework that facilitates this work and the impactful relationships between communities. “Together, they form a living bridge that strengthens global Jewish ties and reinforces both the Jewish people and Israel.”
“Over the past two years, we’ve strengthened our ties with communities abroad through delegations and virtual meetings. We were truly looking forward to hosting the people who supported us during such a difficult time,” said Ory Rosin, Director of the Western Galilee Partnership. “It was a joyful and meaningful week that gave us real hope for the future.”
During their visit, participants witnessed firsthand the physical and emotional impact of the war on the region’s residents while also encountering a community defined by resilience and an unwavering commitment to rebuild. They had the opportunity to hear personal stories from locals and share their own, resulting in stronger bonds and a deeper sense of mutual responsibility.
“The road ahead is still long, and the challenges are many,” reflected Daniel Blain, CEO of the JewishAkron, the Jewish Federation of Akron, Ohio. “But in the Western Galilee we saw a spirit that cannot be extinguished—a spirit of renewal, hope, and genuine partnership.”
One of the participants, Ilya Rekhter, 37, of Indiana, said the events following October 7 compelled him to become more engaged with the Jewish people and with Israel. “It’s one of the few times in my life when I can answer the questions ‘Why this? Why now? Why me?’ clearly and confidently,” he said. “This is a significant moment to get involved—to give time, to give money, and in any way you can, simply to give your part.”
The delegation ended with a gala in Acre, focusing on a shared mission: to heal, rebuild, and foster renewed hope for Israel’s North. Attendees at the event included Jewish Agency Chairman Doron Almog, philanthropist Raya Strauss, local mayors, senior officials, and partners from around the world.
Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Maj. Gen. (res.) Doron Almog: “The connection between Israel and the Jewish communities around the world is not just a bridge. It’s a lifeline. It reminds us that we are one people, with a common destiny and a common future. And this is especially felt here in the north, which has gone through two difficult and painful years. The damage to businesses, homes, education, and our sense of security touched each and every one of us, but it was precisely then that the power of the partnership was fully revealed. Thanks to the deep foundations built over the years, the Partnership was able to respond quickly and powerfully, sending assistance, support and hope and assisting us in our long-term mission of rebuilding and strengthening the North.”
